I’m sure almost everyone loves chips – it’s one of the ultimate comfort food. But – fried chips are unhealthy (duh) and prepared oven chips found in the supermarket’s frozen section are expensive.
So I came up with a way to make low fat oven chips quick and easy (and cheaply!)
· 5ml Olive oil OR non-stick cooking spray
· A medium to large potato
· Seasoning of your choice
Preheat oven to 220̊ Celsius
To make the chips, cut the potato into chip shapes, put in a Tupperware container (I use an old margarine tub) with the oil and seasoning. Put the lid on and shake to distribute evenly.
(If you don't want to use the oil you can just put the chips straight onto a greased baking tray and spray with non-stick cooking spray and sprinkle with seasoning but that miniscule amount of olive oil makes all the difference in taste.)
Turn out onto a greased baking tray (I use baking paper instead of greasing the pan – makes clean up easier as well!)
Bake for 20 minutes
